You’ll arrive in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Upon your arrival, a representative from Oyepedia Travel LLP will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel, which is about a 20-25 minute drive. This day is reserved for settling in and resting after your flight. You can explore the local area if time permits, or simply relax and prepare for the adventure ahead.
This day is dedicated to exploring Kathmandu’s vibrant culture and history. You’ll visit the UNESCO-listed temples and sites such as Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple. These cultural excursions are a perfect way to adjust to the time zone and altitude before heading to the trekking regions. After an early breakfast, you’ll board a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, one of the most famous airports in the world, known for its dramatic setting. Upon landing, you’ll begin your trek to Phakding, a small Sherpa village located along the Dudh Koshi River. The trek takes approximately 3-4 hours and gives you your first taste of Himalayan landscapes.
The trek continues as you cross suspension bridges, pass through lush forests, and ascend steadily to Namche Bazaar, the main trading center in the Khumbu region. This is a 5-6 hour hike, and once you reach Namche, you’ll be rewarded with incredible views of the surrounding mountains.

On this day, you’ll trek to Tengboche, home to one of the most iconic Buddhist monasteries in Nepal. The trek takes around 4-5 hours, and as you approach Tengboche, you’ll be treated to views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. The Tengboche Monastery is a spiritual center for trekkers and pilgrims alike.
The next stop is Khumjung, a beautiful Sherpa village known for its green fields and the famous Khumjung Monastery. The trek takes around 4-5 hours, and you’ll enjoy views of the surrounding peaks as well as an introduction to Sherpa culture and village life.
After visiting Khumjung, the trek continues to Monjo, where you’ll spend the night. The 4-5 hour trek will take you through beautiful forests and charming villages, giving you more chances to practice yoga and meditation.
On this day, you’ll retrace your steps to Lukla, where the trek began. The 4-5 hour hike back will allow you to reflect on your journey as you descend back through the region’s stunning landscapes.
From Lukla, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking flight back to Kathmandu, offering stunning aerial views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for relaxation or for exploring any sites in Kathmandu that you may have missed on the second day.
Spend your last full day in Kathmandu enjoying some local community involvement activities or shopping for souvenirs. You can visit Thamel, a vibrant neighborhood filled with shops, restaurants, and cafes. You may also participate in yoga or meditation sessions offered in Kathmandu.
