Upon arrival in Kathmandu, our representative will greet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. In the evening, meet your trekking guide for a brief overview of the trek. Feel free to explore Kathmandu or add an extra night to your stay for some cultural sightseeing and shopping before the trek begins.
Take a one-hour scenic flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. After arriving, you will be transferred to a local lodge for your overnight stay. This marks the first step in your journey to the isolated beauty of Dolpo.
Catch a short flight to Juphal, the gateway to the Dolpo region. From here, begin your trek to Dunai, the administrative center of Dolpo. The trek takes around 6 to 8 hours, covering 11 km, and ascends to an altitude of 2,150m. After reaching Dunai, you will rest at a local lodge for the night.
On this day, you will continue your journey towards Chhepka. The trek is expected to last 6 to 8 hours, covering 15 km and gaining an altitude of 2,670m. The route takes you through lush forests and remote villages, providing glimpses into the local way of life. Overnight stay will be at a local lodge.
After breakfast, trek towards Jharana Hotel, located at an elevation of 2,950m. This 6-8 hour trek, covering 10 km, offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. The day’s highlight is crossing the beautiful Phoksundo River and walking through dense forest areas. Stay overnight at a local lodge.
On this day, you will trek to the magnificent Phoksundo Lake, situated at 3,640m. This 4 to 6-hour trek covers 6 km and is the highlight of the entire journey. As you approach the lake, the stunning blue-green waters and the snow-capped peaks around it will leave you in awe. Enjoy a peaceful night at a local lodge, resting and soaking in the beauty of the surroundings.
Spend an entire day exploring the beauty of Phoksundo Lake and its surroundings. You can visit nearby areas such as the Tshowa Monastery and the Ringmo village, where you can immerse yourself in the rich Bon-Po culture. Enjoy scenic hikes around the lake and relax at the lodge in the evening.
Today, you will retrace your steps back to Chhepka. This 6-8 hour trek covers a distance of 19 km, and the descent takes you back to 2,670m. The route offers another perspective of the landscapes, as you pass through dense forests and charming villages. Overnight stay will be at a local lodge.
Continue your journey back to Juphal, the starting point of the trek. This 6-8 hour trek covers 18 km and descends to 2,475m. Enjoy the changing landscapes as you make your way through the Dolpo region. Stay at a local lodge upon reaching Juphal.
After breakfast, fly from Juphal to Nepalgunj, and then catch a flight to Kathmandu. This scenic flight will provide you with a last look at the spectacular landscapes you’ve trekked through. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel for your final night in Nepal.
