Welcome to Kathmandu, affectionately known as “The City of Temples.” Upon your arrival at Kathmandu Airport, you will be greeted and picked up by our Tour of Nepal representatives. Following the long flight, you’ll be escorted to your pre-booked hotel in Kathmandu to freshen up. We begin our tour by visiting the legendary Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most significant Hindu shrines situated on the banks of the Bagmati River. Devotees from far and wide come to seek blessings from Lord Shiva here. Next, we proceed to Patan Durbar Square, a historic landmark that served as the palace for Kathmandu’s kings for many years. The square, surrounded by temples and courtyards, offers a glimpse into the city’s royal past. By late evening, we return to your hotel in Kathmandu for an overnight stay.
After a hearty breakfast, with Tour of Nepal continue our exploration of Kathmandu with visits to several other iconic landmarks. Our first stop is the Guheshwari Devi Temple, a sacred site dedicated to Goddess Parvati. We then visit the Jal Narayan Temple, also known as the Sleeping Vishnu Temple, featuring a large reclining statue of Lord Vishnu. Next, we head to the Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, which offers a panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley. Our final stop for the day is the Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world and a significant center of Tibetan Buddhism. After a full day of sightseeing, we return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Following breakfast, we embark on a journey to Pokhara, often referred to as the “Tourist Capital of Nepal.” The scenic drive takes approximately six hours, covering a distance of 201 kilometers. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you’ll be checked into your pre-booked hotel where you can relax before the afternoon’s sightseeing tour. We visit Begnas Lake, the third-largest lake in Nepal, and a popular spot for boating under the sun. You can choose to rent a paddleboat, kayak, sailboat, or rowboat for a leisurely ride on the tranquil waters. After enjoying the serene beauty of Begnas Lake, we head back to your hotel for an overnight stay in Pokhara.
After breakfast, we continue our sightseeing tour in Pokhara, visiting some of its most captivating attractions. Our first stop is the Barahi Temple, a two-story pagoda located in the middle of Phewa Lake, accessible only by boat. Next, we visit Devi’s Fall, a stunning waterfall that plunges into an underground tunnel. Nearby, we explore the Gupteshwar Cave, which houses a sacred Shiva lingam. Other notable sites include the Bindhyabasini Temple, Seti River, Mahendra Cave, and Fewa Lake. After a full day of exploration, we return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Pokhara.
Following breakfast, we set out for Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The drive covers a distance of 204 kilometers and takes approximately seven hours. Upon arrival, you’ll be checked into your pre-booked hotel. Lumbini is a significant pilgrimage site for Buddhists, believed to be the place where Queen Mahamayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama in 563 BC. After a long day of travel, you’ll have the evening to relax and unwind in Lumbini.
On the sixth day, we explore the sacred sites of Lumbini. Our tour begins with a visit to the Mayadevi Temple, the exact birthplace of Buddha, marked by a commemorative stone. Next, we see the Ashoka Pillar, erected by Emperor Ashoka in 249 BC to mark his visit to Lumbini. We also visit the World Peace Pagoda, a stunning white stupa built by Japanese Buddhists, and the Myanmar Golden Temple, known for its intricate architecture. Other attractions include the Lumbini Museum, showcasing artifacts and historical information, and the China Temple, a beautiful pagoda-style temple built by Chinese Buddhists. After a day filled with spiritual exploration, we return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Lumbini.
On the final day of your tour, we head back to Kathmandu, covering a distance of 300 kilometers, which takes around nine hours. Once in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
